The Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit solution is designed to address common issues faced by charities and not-for-profits. Delivered through the cloud, the service has helped many charities and not-for-profits around the world benefit from industry-leading technology that has resulted in a strong impact on their processes.
By connecting the advanced cloud capabilities of the Microsoft stack to common charity and not-for-profit scenarios, your organisations will benefit from solutions that will be critical to achieving your goals, such as communicating more effectively with donors and supporters, or simply pushing forward with your mission outcomes.
Working with TES to deliver Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit will ensure that your charity or not-for-profit takes that next step into digital transformation as it harnesses the power of multiple Microsoft solutions.
Fundraising and Engagement (F&E) is a purpose-built donor management and fundraising solution built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and the Nonprofit Common Data Model.
Brought to you by Microsoft Tech For Social Impact (TSI), the not-for-profit philanthropy division of Microsoft, it focuses on the constituents and fundraising function of not-for-profits.
But first, what is the Nonprofit Common Data Model? Microsoft TSI has invested in not-for-profits to bring to them a full cloud solution which connects all aspects of the not-for-profit organisation on one platform, allowing data and its meaning to be shared across applications – one version of the truth.
Within charities and not-for-profits, we typically find that Microsoft tools are being used, except in the hands of the fundraising and marketing teams who are still using traditional, outdated and often on-premise products to meet those critical needs. The technology landscape is built of disparate systems that don’t talk to each other, resulting in siloed data, and therefore siloed teams and departments who are all committed to the same mission, but using disconnected mission-critical systems.
TSI took a step back to reimagine how it could best serve not-for-profits and address the fragmented technology ecosystem. A common point of view was needed; a Common Data Model which expresses the way that charity and not-for-profit processes should work from a best practice point of view. The result was the Common Data Model for not-for-profits, a universal language of the entities and attributes which capture core not-for-profit processes, allowing every facet of not-for-profits’ technology ecosystem to talk with each other, with no data silos. The first common data model built for, and with, the not-for-profit sector was born.
TSI and TES, through 20 years of working with charities and not-for-profits, understand the problems these organisations are facing, and have developed a suite of tools on the Dynamics platform to transform the financial and operational functions of charities.
Throughout TES’ 20 years of working in the charity and not-for-profit sector, we have found that multiple and disparate solutions are used for donor management and fundraising, there is a lack of integration with the finance system, there is no centralised view of a donor’s relationships/interactions with the organisation, and time is wasted managing everyday tasks such as data duplication, mass mailings and keeping track of interactions with donors.
Using the Microsoft Dynamics platform and the Nonprofit Common Data Model combined with the TES packs, a not-for-profit can grow with Microsoft and TES with the use of the interoperability of all of the Dynamics apps taking advantage of the TSI discounts and license grants.
Volunteering is someone spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone who they’re not closely related to. Volunteers perform a critical contribution to many charities and not-for-profits, and without them your mission would be unachievable.
But how do you communicate with your volunteers? How do you onboard them, track their contribution to your organisation and thank them? What tools do you use internally to ensure that your management and communication to your volunteers is optimised, and most importantly, what kind of experience do your volunteers have when choosing to spend their valuable time with your organisation to encourage them to re-engage?
In addition to the Fundraising and Engagement (F&E) application, Microsoft Tech For Social Impact has developed Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement to enable not-for-profit organisations to manage relationships with their volunteers and the end-to-end process of engaging volunteers, from publishing opportunities and receiving applications, through onboarding and communications, to post-engagement activities and reporting.
The Dynamics platform allows not-for-profits to take Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement now, and then grow into other areas such as Fundraising and Engagement from TSI, or the add-on packs from TES for functions such as Membership Management and Grant Management. It’s an ecosystem; a shift from a single solution such as a traditional “CRM Solution”, to a truly unified view of your not-for-profit’s operations.
